Is this suitable for beginners?

Yes! The sessions are beginner-friendly, with guidance available throughout the session to help you build confidence and improve your painting skills.

Do I need to bring my own materials?

No! I provide all materials, including paints, brushes, mediums and a piece of canvas to work on. You're welcome to bring your own equipment if you like.

What should I expect in a session?

In each session, we will work on a new painting from a selection of various subject matter. You will be guided through the steps of applying a wash, creating a sketch, and then developing colour and tone to complete an oil painting. Throughout the session and help you complete your own oil painting.

I have something I would like to paint, can I bring that?

Absolutely! I'm happy for you to bring your own reference images to paint from. In the session, I can help you create a painting of your chosen image to take away your own unique piece.

Welcome to my Weekly Oil Painting classes at The Customs House!

Come spend the evening learning how to paint with oils in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Each session focuses on building skills through guided steps, from initial sketches and underpainting to adding detail and finishing touches. You'll complete a full painting in every class, with all materials provided. The classes are open to anyone looking to explore oil painting, develop new techniques, or simply enjoy a couple of hours of creative focus.
