Oktoberfest Middle Week-Twin Share
The largest beer festival in the world, held since 1810, Oktoberfest is an experience of a lifetime. Many tents are set up in the huge festival area and the crowds fill them all. The opening week is the time everyone and everything is fresh and still filled with energy. The crowds are eager to enjoy the festival and you should be among them. Enjoy a huge, cold beer with Bavarian music played by the orchestra in the background and chip off your delicious pretzel.
Gather round in the lobby this afternoon as we meet other tour members and the guide. Listen up for a fast and informal meeting with the leader including registration and a short brief about the adventures ahead and some country and cultural info.We head out for an optional welcome dinner this evening that might just involve a drink or two!
WELCOME to Wiesn!!! We take part in the serious beer bonanza! Get ready to get very much involved in the traditional beer blitz that stops a town and draws in thousands from every corner of the globe. Be prepared for serious intoxication… we mean enjoy drinking the best beer in the world in moderation! It’s the a day for trying typical German beer foods such as Sauerkraut or Rotkraut (red cabbage) along with such Bavarian delicacies as Obatzda (a fatty, spiced cheese-butter concoction) and Weisswurst (a white sausage).
Today you have a free day.You can enjoy Oktoberfest and visit other tents. The day is spent with a glass in your hand as we enjoy the amazing atmosphere and festivity of the many beerhalls. Also be sure to try a great deal more of the local traditional hearty fare such as Schweinsbraten (roast pork), Würstel (sausages) along with Brez’n (Pretzel), Knödeln (potato or bread dumplings), Käsespätzle (cheese noodles), Reiberdatschi (potato pancakes).
Our trip will end here, after some Paracetamol to try and shake your hang-over and a German breakfast we say goodbye to our new friends and check out of the hostel.
