Description

Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust are delighted to announce that we will be hosting an Old Age Psychiatry Update event, taking place on 14 November 2019. This is a full day event at the Novotel, offering free car parking, lunch and refreshments. The event includes national and regional speakers. The event will include lectures in the morning followed by interactive workshops in the afternoon. Please see the event programme for further details.

Topics will include:

  • Is it possible to prevent dementia? A review of the evidence
  • Parkinson’s disease: an overview of current practice
  • The importance of clinical trials
  • End of life issues in dementia
  • Therapy updates in Parkinson’s disease
  • Driving and dementia
  • Non-pharmacological interventions in care homes

Guest speakers include:

  • Professor John O’Brien, Old Age Psychiatrist, University of Cambridge
  • Dr Annette Hand, Associate Professor, Northumbria University
  • Professor Rob Howard, Old Age Psychiatrist, University College London

An early bird rate of £60 per head is being offered to all applications fully processed before 30 June 2019. Thereafter the charge will be £99 per head.
