Old Blind Dogs Live in Comrie - supported by Finn Paul
Sat 20 May 2017, 20:00 – 23:00 BST
After 5 years, the Dogs will be back in town on 20th May!
Chris’s Gigs is delighted to be able to welcome back to Comrie the high energy, full on, trad based, mean machine that are the Old Blind Dogs. This will be a party gig in Comrie White Church so bring your dancing shoes and be prepared for anything. Last time we found ourselves dancing an energetic Macarena to a Strathspey, so who knows what might happen. Whatever does it’s going to be a fun night!
The Dogs, one of Scotland’s most highly touted traditional folk bands, are not known for shying away from change. A strong, shared musical vision has allowed the group to ride out inevitable line-up changes and the band’s popularity has never dimmed in their more than 20 years of performing. The current foursome of original member Jonny Hardie (fiddle, guitar and vocals), Aaron Jones (bouzouki, guitar, vocals), Ali Hutton (Border pipes, whistles, vocals) and Donald Hay (drums, percussion) have proven more than capable of carrying on the tradition of the band that have been called “a Scots neo-traditional super-group with a bracingly modern musical attack”.
The Dogs will be supported by a talented young singer/songwriter from Comrie, Finn Paul.
