Event description

Description

In 2017 York Museums Trust launched the 'Old Collections, New Questions' Roman Research Project, an Arts Council England supported project to carry out new and innovative research into the Yorkshire Museum's internationally significant Roman collections.

One year on you are invited to join museum professionals, academics, researchers, and enthusiasts to hear what progress has been made, what new research has been undertaken, and discuss the project's next steps.

The Study Day will introduce attendees to the project, set out its acheivements so far, and invite discussion through a series of talks and case studies from curators, research partners, and volunteers.

Full programme to follow.

All are welcome. We would really value your input, interest, and expertise on the day, and hope you are able to attend.

FAQs

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is no onsite parking at any of our venues, however we are just a few minutes' walk from many car parks in York. The closest is Marygate Car Park (City of York Council) (YO30 7DT).

York operates a Park&Ride scheme with regular buses from the ring road: iTravelYork Park&Ride

A full list of private and public car parks is available on iTravelYork

York Museum Gardens is a 10-15 minute walk from York railway station.
