The rise of fundamentalism and scapegoating, which is associated with the conflicts in the Middle-East, is profoundly disturbing to us all. Earl Hopper will consider these old stories and vicious spirals in the context of his theory of Incohesion as a fourth basic assumption in the unconscious life of traumatised social systems, including societies and organisations. As a good Independent, he will draw on the work of a diverse range of psychoanalysts and group analysts.
