Event description

Description

The NIHR Dissemination Centre invites you to a seminar to mark the launch of its Themed Review of NIHR research on older people living with frailty in secondary care

What are the particular needs of older people living with frailty as they go into hospital? What does research tell us about how best to look after them? From assessment and care planning to managing delirium and incontinence, there are many lessons from research past and present. You will hear about important recent evidence and reflections from service leaders, frontline staff, patients and families. There will be a chance to discuss together how services can act on findings and what we still need to know to improve care.

Confirmed speakers include:

Dawn Moody – GP and Associate National Clinical Director (older people), NHS England

Jackie BridgesProfessor of Older People Care, University of Southampton

Janet Davies - Chief Executive and General Secretary, Royal College of Nursing

John Gladman Geriatrician and Professor of Medicine for Older People, University of Nottingham

Phil Ruthen – Public contributor

Refreshments will be provided during the event.
