About this event
PREPARE YOURSELF for a night of GRANDEUR with the OMV for our FIRST EVER (we think) REELING BALL!
Come and enjoy a night of revelry with all of your OMV friends from across the generations!!
Included in the ticket: welcome drinks reception, bacon rolls, wine (lot's of it), a live band, photographer, donation to the OMV and unforgettable memories!! (and of course, dancing)!
And when the band stops at midnight, join us for further drinks and dancing at the local after party venue which will be announced in due course.
Whether you are a veteran reeler or you are stepping onto the dance floor for the first time, everyone is welcome! However, if you are unfamiliar with the dances we HIGHLY encourage you to look at the London Reels YouTube channel linked below for dance demonstrations:
https://www.youtube.com/c/LondonReels/videos
We also encourage you to look to other reeling organisations who put on regular practice sessions, such as PGT Reels and London Reels, to get you used to some of the dance moves.

For those of you coming from University, we reccomend looking into your respective Caledonian Societies where the dances can be learned.
Dress code: Black tie or Highland Dress
N.B. If you are an OMV Guest wishing to attend the event, you are very welcome but you must come with your own carers. The OMV is unable to take responsibility for guests outside of our official activities due to insurance restrictions.
Frequently asked questions
No, we will be handing out dance cards on arrival for you to find your dance partners during the drinks reception.
We are aware that a 6pm start will be tricky for some as it is a Friday. We will be kicking off the drinks reception then but dancing will not start until 7:30pm so you should have plenty of time to get to the venue.
Everyone is welcome to come along and try. We do encourage you to have a look at the links above to get an idea of how things work and if you can attend some practice sessions near you that would also be useful.
Those that have highland dress are welcome to wear it, otherwise standard black tie (ladies long dresses) is perfectly acceptable. Ladies, we strongly recommend you leave the high heels at home for this one and rely on your trusty flat shoes! Believe us, you'll thank us for that one!
Yes, absolutely!
