On-Call Firefighter Taster Session 2 March 2020

This session will give an overview of the role of a On-Call Firefighter at Humberside Fire and Rescue Service.

Most On-Call firefighters are based in rural areas (five minutes from the fire station) and will crew a designated fire engine at an On-Call fire station. However, some are based in urban areas on stations alongside Full-Time crews (Full-Time Firefighters). You will have the opportunity to participate in practical tasks of the role and try on fire kit. This session will give you an idea of the fitness levels required for the role as well as the recruitment process.

The taster session will last for 2 hours.

There are limited changing facilities onsite. Please arrive in comfortable/sports clothing and ensure you have a pair of socks and hair bobbles/clips to tie your hair up.

This session is aimed at having a go and seeing if you're interested in joining Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, you will not be under assessment during the session.
