About this event
EG Talking Threads - A talk between Siân Martin and Janet Edmonds.
Janet Edmonds and Siân Martin (both members of the Textile Study Group) got together to talk about their shared love of the local landscape and how it inspires their work. They will be talking about the ways they work and comparing notes on their individual pieces.
The recording is not downloadable and will be available for viewing for at least one month after registration.
Siân Martin
Siân Martin has been a maker of textile art since she graduated from Birmingham Polytechnic in 1972 with a BA Hons and MA in Embroidery, and exhibits with the 62 Group of Textile Artists, Stitch Textile Artists, as well as the Textile Study Group.
Siân enjoys using transparent and translucent materials and is interested in finding ways to convey the idea of movement and layering in her textile pieces. She is inspired by her home environment of Somerset and in particular the wetland areas. As well as the natural beauty of the landscape, her work makes connection to ideas of conservation.
