About this event
‘Nature’s Textures’ will explore materials and techniques used to create highly textured 3D sculptures and wall art.
As a key features of her work, Marian will be outlining her intriguing use of heat treatments and also the use of mixed materials, usually destined for landfills, which are often included in her work.
As her creative journey evolves Marian will share information about using macro photography to acquire images from nature for inspiration, developing textile techniques through experimentation and ultimately the creation of final pieces of work.
The recording is not downloadable but will be available for viewing for at least one month after registration.
Tree Decay vessels 1-3
Marian Jazmik combining her two favourite occupations – walking and embroidery – have resulted in many nature inspired mixed media pieces of textile work, both wall art and 3D ‘vessels’ and sculptures.
She readily takes photographs, whether this is a far reaching view or the detailed section of a seed head or texture upon a surface. Her work is constantly developing and is becoming increasingly influenced by detailed textures of rocks, trees, foliage etc observed whilst out and about.
She has written for several publications and has an extensive bibliography, including:
