Everything you wanted to know about geisha and were afraid to ask. A no-holds-barred look at the iconic geisha image, unlocking some of the mysteries of their unique role in Japanese culture, both historically and in the 21st century.

Please note that this ticket is for a recording of the live event on 14 October. Tickets for the live event are available here. You will be emailed access details to the recording by 28 October. The recording is not downloadable but will be available for viewing until at least 28 November, 2025.

Marion Plumb is a mixed media textile artist and collector of ethnic indigo-dyed cloth and vintage Japanese silk kimono. Regular visits to Japan kindled an interest in its culture and history and led her to research the fascinating background to both the kimono and the geisha world.
