About this event

Maybe you don't know where to start, or how to take your vague idea to a final design and then to a completed work. During this talk, Rachel Wright will share some strategies she has developed during her own projects.

Sometimes the stitch or technique will take the lead, sometimes the story or image predominates. Let's see that in action to help you make progress on your own projects. Join for a glimpse into Rachel’s creative process and walk away with fresh ideas to inspire your next steps.

Please note that this ticket is for a recording of the live event on 3 June. Tickets for the live event are available here. You will be emailed access details to the recording by 17 June. The recording is not downloadable but will be available for viewing until at least 17 July, 2025.

Rachel Wright is an embroiderer and blogger based in the North West of England. A degree in French and Linguistics, and an MSc in Textile Design Technology and Design Management led her into other waters, but eventually true north pulled, and she enjoys writing about the hows and whys of stitch and thread choice, and the highs and lows of a semi-unplanned style of pictorial embroidery.

Her Grandmama first taught her embroidery when she was a child, but Rachel often wonders what Grandmama would make of the goldwork, raised work, and experimental adventures with textured threads that have marked her more recent work.
