About this event
The Gordian Knot was part of the history and legend surrounding Alexander the Great and his encounter with another enigma - an enigma according to Patounas equally important as that of the Sphinx and Oedipus’ myth: whoever unties the knot, will be the king of Asia.
Alexander, says Patounas has given us access unwillingly to the approach of the cut, not the vital psychoanalytic one introduced by Lacan’s genius, but the cut the Act brings forth and provides the threshold from the Subject of the unconscious, where the subject is represented in the signifiers, to the Verb of the Act where the hypokeimenon (now Verb) dies and resurrects itself having admittance to desire, which is beyond the body and thus beyond the signifier.
Patounas will introduce the modified Möbius Topology where the presence of the Act on it permits 'straight' lines.
