On the Ladder - Health Walk Leader Training
Thu 1 December 2016, 10:30 – 16:00 GMT
Chorley Council is committed to supporting people to be involved in making a difference in their local community.
On the Ladder has been created to support the delivery of training and advice for both existing and new volunteers by providing a range of courses which contribute to the development of community-led activities.
The Volunteer Walk leader course is a free course for anyone who would like to lead walks for the Find Your Feet Walking for Health scheme. Walking for Health is part of England's largest network of health walk schemes, helping all kinds of people to lead a more active lifestyle. Our walks are led by friendly, knowledgeable people, specially trained for the job. Along with fellow walkers, our walk leaders provide all the advice and encouragement a new walker needs to build fitness at a pace that's right for them. In just a short time, a small amount of regular exercise can significantly improve a person's health, well-being and confidence.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for a short demonstration walk.
