Description

Join award-winning pro wildlife photographers Ann & Steve Toon for a fun day photographing some of Britain's most charismatic birds of prey, up close and in-flight, in the beautiful and dramatic scenery of Cumbria's Eden Valley. We’ll be working with master falconer Richard Cooper of Silverband falconry, winner of a Cumbrian Tourism Board award for excellence, and exploiting the season’s best of the region’s sweeping scenery as a backdrop for our bird photography.

Whether you’re a seasoned shooter or a relative beginner, you’ll gets lots of practical help from Ann and Steve on this friendly, informative and informal photography day (they’ve been running these popular workshops for more than 10 years) and there’ll be plenty of opportunities for some great shots. We’ll be photographing native species from the Silverband collection such as Tawny Owl, Barn Owl, Little Owl, Long-eared Owl, Kestrel, Buzzard, Peregrine Falcon and more. Lunch and refreshments are included in the £120 price.

Silverband falconry is set among tranquil and unspoilt farmland, at the foot of the North Pennines, only 15 minutes drive from the M6 (Penrith exit). In addition to the dramatic upland fells there’s a wealth of meadows, hay fields, dry stone walls, hedgerows and farm buildings at hand, offering us a wonderful range of beautiful natural settings to choose from on the day. More info at www.toonphoto.com/workshopraptor.html.

Please note: Spaces limited to 8 photographers and a maximum of two non-photographing companions (companion spaces are priced at £20 and allocated on a first come first serve basis).
