ONE EQUAL MUSIC

Psalms, poems and folk songs by Sir James MacMillan.

The Elysian Singers are delighted to be celebrating the music of our patron Sir James MacMillan in this breathtaking concert which will showcase the works from our upcoming CD 'One Equal Music'. The performance will take place one week after we complete our recording. Several of the works on this new CD have not been recorded commercially before, and many are very recent compositions. Only the wonderful “Miserere” is likely to be well known. Together, the works will showcase the astonishingly broad reach of MacMillan’s choral writing in both the sacred and secular spheres.

The programme will include:

Blow the trumpet in the new moon
Children are a heritage of the Lord
Miserere
Domine non secundum peccata nostra
One Equal Music
To My Successor
When you see the millions of the mouthless dead
Invocation
Lassie, wad ye loe me?
Dominus infelix est
Ave maris stella
Cecilia virgo
