ONE MSK: RUN
Overview
Designed and delivered by Phil Williams, Chartered Consultant Physiotherapist and Running Coach, this practical, evidence-informed course is for Physiotherapists, Sports Rehabilitators, Sports Therapists, Strength & Conditioning Coaches, Podiatrists, Running Coaches, and other healthcare and performance professionals working with runners.
Across the day, we’ll take a deep dive into the most common running injuries and how to effectively manage them—from early assessment, load management and exercise progressions, through to return-to-performance planning.
You’ll gain hands-on experience in running gait analysis using motion sensors and force plates, and learn how to interpret metabolic threshold testing to prescribe training intensities that optimise performance and reduce injury risk. The course also includes live diagnostic ultrasound demonstrations to support clinical reasoning and anatomical understanding of common running pathologies.
What You’ll Learn:
- Management frameworks for common tendon, fascia, knee and muscular injuries in runners
- Introduction to gait analysis principles with an overview of how to integrate digital technology into clinical decision-making.
- Understanding physiological thresholds and prescribing running intensities with purpose
- Applying pathophysiology to assessment, diagnosis and progression planning
- Recognising RED-S, supporting recovery, and managing energy availability
- Case-based workshops to design personalised rehab and return-to-run plans
