One Table: Two Stories
Join us on November 6, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Hellen's Manor, Much Marcle, for a unique opportunity to experience exquisite Ukrainian wines with award winning British cheese; bringing together local British traditions and Ukrainian resilience in times of war.
At the heart of the evening will be local cheesemaker Charles Martell, known for his respect for heritage and quality, and Ukrainian winemakers, who continue their craft despite shelling, occupation, and mined land – creating wines with incredible stories behind them.
Our special guest will be the President of the Ukrainian Winemakers Association, who will share powerful insights about the challenges and strength of Ukrainian winemaking today. Svitlana has carefully paired 4 delicious Ukrainian wines with the award winning British cheeses.
You will be welcomed with a glass of Ukrainian sparkling wine whilst Galyna Grigoriadi entertains you with traditional Ukrainian folk songs played on the bandura.
Whilst savouring the delicious pairings, our wine and cheese experts will explain how the wine and cheese have been produced and paired.
As well as celebrating the ever-growing friendships between local communities with those in Ukraine, we will raising money for charities that support the brave medics working on the frontline that are providing life-saving bloodtranfusions and plasma packs in the trenches.
We will have two special guests, Will Jackson and David Gaston, who have completed numerous aid runs tight into the heart of Ukraine. They will share their insight and stories of life in Ukraine today.
We are very excited to have a unique bottle of wine from the Bachmut vinery - now destroyed during the war - available as our star prize in our auction. This, along with other amazing prizes, will available to bid for on the night. .
A photo exhibitions will provide the opportunity to learn more about the products being sampled.
