The One Walk is a friendly, inclusive 5k walk or untimed fun run which has something for all ages and abilities, from the littlest legs to the briskest power-walkers. Join local families affected by type 1 diabetes and millions of others around the globe and take steps to bring us closer to the cure.
Over the past three years the One Walk Aberdeen has raised over £400,000 for type 1 diabetes research. A huge thank you to everyone who has helped us to raise such a fantastic amount so far, with your help we can continue to build on this success.
The day will include
- Being part of JDRF’s flagship fundraising event
- Access to the Walk Village, full of activities and entertainment for the family including balloon modelling and Lochter Activity Centre
- A fun, group warm up
- A fully sign posted route
- Support from experienced event leaders, marshals and medics
- A finisher’s medal for all the family
- Support to help you reach your fundraising targets
- An opportunity to meet other local families living with type 1, and JDRF staff members
As well as bringing family and friends. The One Walk is the ideal event to get your whole community involved with, so why not invite others to join your team too.
Once you sign up we’ll help get your fundraising off to a great start by sending you a fundraising pack bursting with exciting ideas and tips. In the lead up to the walk, we will send you e-newsletters packed full of fundraising inspiration, essential information about the walk day, and the all-important walk fundraising leaderboard, so you can see where your team sits in comparison to other teams.
Sponsorship target: £100
Everyone who registers to take part will receive a wristband and fundraising pack. If you do not register you may turn up on the day, but please note there will be an entry fee of £20 for a family and £10 for an individual.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
There is no age limit for the One Walk Aberdeen, and most of the route is suitable for buggies and pushchairs.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There is limited parking at Drum Castle, so please car share where possible.
Can I bring my dog to the event?
Yes! Furry friends are more than welcome, as long as they are on a lead and you are able to clean up any mess.
