About this event
🌳 The Tree of Life: A Therapeutic Workshop 🌳
This small, nurturing workshop (limited to 4 participants) offers a reflective and creative space to explore your personal story and reconnect with your inner strength through the Tree of Life exercise. Originally developed by Ncazelo Ncube (PHOLA) and David Denborough (Dulwich Centre Foundation), this method is rooted in narrative therapy and provides a unique way of working with identity, resilience, and trauma.
Through drawing, guided reflection, and therapeutic dialogue, you will be invited to rediscover the values, skills, and hopes that sustain you, while also gently acknowledging the storms that have shaken your tree – the difficult experiences, traumas, and struggles that may have obscured your growth. In this safe and supportive space, these stories are not denied or minimised, but carefully held and witnessed, allowing them to take their rightful place as part of your journey. With guidance, you will begin to see that while these experiences may have shaped you, they do not define you. Instead, they can become sources of resilience, strength, and new meaning.
What You Will Experience:
- A deep therapeutic exercise designed to help you rediscover who you are beyond your struggles and reconnect with the core of your identity.
- A safe, contained environment to gently acknowledge past challenges and life’s storms, while reflecting on how they have shaped you.
- Guided reflection and drawing using the Tree of Life framework, offering new ways of seeing your past, present, and future.
- Interpretation and meaning-making, helping you connect with your values, strengths, and aspirations while reframing your story with compassion.
- The therapeutic power of storytelling and creativity, allowing you to externalise your experiences and uncover new perspectives.
- Gentle group dialogue and sharing, creating a sense of connection while honouring each participant’s personal boundaries.
- An intimate group size (maximum 4 participants), ensuring that each voice is valued and the atmosphere remains calm and personal.
- Integration and Q&A, so the insights you discover can be carried into your everyday life.
- Environment: We invite you to prepare a quiet, undisturbed place where you can focus. This will help you listen more deeply to what arises from your inner world and unconscious, and allow you to engage fully with the process.
