About this Event
Would you know how to spot the signs of poor mental health in a colleague, friend or relative? Would you know how to support them and offer initial help? Join us for this online training in Mental Health First Aid to equip you with the tools and resources to apply first aid for those in a mental health crisis. It will enable you to have confident conversations with others about mental health, know where and how to direct them to professional support, ensuring they can access the right mental health support to help them.
This online course is made up of a combination of online individual learning activities, and instructor-led online group training sessions, delivered by two instructors to ensure all of our delegates are fully supported throughout.
On the course, we will cover many practical skills and develop your awareness to give you:
− A deeper understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect people’s wellbeing, including your own
− Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
− Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
− Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
− Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to appropriate support
Course timings:
Session 1- Introduction to mental health- 9th Nov- 10am-12.30pm
Session 2- Depression and suicide- 10th Nov- 10am-12.30pm
Session 3- Anxiety and eating disorders- 11th Nov- 10am-12.30pm
Session 4- Psychosis and recovery- 12th Nov- 10am-12.30pm
The cost of this course includes; 4 online learning sessions, online learning resources to access and complete between each session, MHFA manual, workbook, action plan card and certification.
