Safeguarding Children in a world of tech. Why context is everywhere, why complex factors about the online world overlap into the real world
About this event
It has become apparent that standard safeguarding training is missing some complex factors about the online world and vice versa. Without tooting my own horn too much, my trainings cover these important factors and so, if you work with children or know children then my courses are a necessity. Do you know what issues overlap and are hidden online, occur through this medium and what to do?
I am currently the only person straddling these two areas with over a decade of clinical and academic practice giving me insights and knowledge that I can share with you. Helping you become a better practitioner, teacher, mentor, trainer, professional and where this carries over; parent!
The course will look at the issues faced by infants, children and young people who are surrounded by technology and what you need to know in terms of recognising and working with issues that are safeguarding in respect of this technology.
You will learn what to do with these issue and where to get the help and support necessary to guide you in your role to support the child and young person in your care.
ON THE COURSE:
You will learn what, where and how to report these issues and how they differ from real world safeguarding ones. What steps you should take, and not take. When and where you can reach out and signpost, what services are around that you can work with and of course what you can expect from your place of work in terms of the process, procedures and policies to date surrounding these issues.
There are a number of dates to chose from for this training so please do check eventbrite for those or head to the website to check for other courses running too!
