This is not just a training, it’s a call to action. Join us for a day exploring the intersection between climate justice and racial justice. We’ll shed light on the UK's historical relationship with racism and anti-racism efforts. We'll look at how racism plays out in the media and how to build local alliances before going onto look at how you can design anti-racist climate and nature campaigns.

This training will give you the tools to contribute to a more equitable and united fight for a sustainable future. It’s a step towards building a climate movement that reflects the diversity of voices and experiences around us.

After the training you will have the opportunity to work with your local staff members and Bilal, our antiracism trainer to start embedding antiracism into your current or new campaigns. We also have a small grant that is available to apply for after you have attended the training to help with this work.

Who is this training/course for?

- Local action group members who are wanting to learn skills and feel confident to embed anti-racism into their local and national campaigns.

- The training works best if several people from a group attend so that the learning is shared by the whole group and it’s then easier to build anti-racist campaigns together.

- If spaces are still available a few weeks before the training, we will open it to the wider movement.

We have now started reaching out to more diverse local groups in Nottingham to share the aims of the campaign and hope to continue to build relationships within diverse communities with the goal of working together for climate and racial justice."

Accessibility and support

We know that this work can greatly impact activists of colour, so for this reason we are offering 1-2-1 therapeutic support from USEMI after the training so that you have space to talk and be heard.

During this training we will use Powerpoint and take part in group work.

In addition, we have the follow processes in place to support accessibility

· If you require a BSL interpreter or language interpreter please contact community@foe.co.uk two weeks before the training and we will aim to book an expert this service. If there are no available interpreters, we will work with you to do whatever we can to support your engagement in the training.

· PowerPoints and handouts will be emailed prior to training.

· We welcome carers and support workers to attend training alongside any participants. Please let us know when registering so we can ensure that you are paired in any group activities.

Please note this training will be a safe space for participants to explore new ideas together, and a recording will not be sent out afterwards.
