Online Beginner Card Making Workshop

Designed especially for beginners, this session is perfect if you’re completely new to calligraphy and looking to add a little handmade charm to your stationery and card-making.

You can choose to book with or without a kit. If you opt for the posted kit, you’ll receive everything you need to get started, including carefully chosen nibs so you can try out different options and discover what suits you best. During the workshop, we’ll guide you through how to hold the pen and nib correctly, how to control ink flow, and how to build confidence with pressure and movement.

Working through clear, easy-to-follow worksheets, you’ll learn how to form beautiful letter shapes with step-by-step guidance from your tutor. The online format means you’ll be able to see the tutor’s work close up, ask questions as you go, and follow along at a comfortable pace.

We’ll explore a series of simple drills and exercises that not only help you gain confidence with lettering, used these to create decorative border designs, so you can frame your calligraphy! Along the way, you’ll pick up tips on layout, spacing and gentle flourish, before bringing everything together to create a sweet hand-lettered card design as your final project.

All worksheets are included, and if you choose the kit option, your cards, envelopes, and tools will be posted to you in advance. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with new skills, finished pieces, and plenty of ideas to continue practising at home.

Complete Kit Option

Select this ticket to receive ink, a wooden pen-holder, a Leonardt 30 nib, a Principle Nib, a Leonardt 256 nib, Chinese ink, plus metallic paint, a paintbrush for mixing, and original worksheets & templates.

Your kit will be posted to you the week prior to your workshop. You only need to provide a jar of water, and please protect the surface that you work on in case of ink spills.

Worksheets Only

You can book this workshop without the calligraphy kit if you already have your calligraphy supplies, but would still like the full-colour worksheets printed on high quality paper and posted to you at home. You will need to provide your own penholder, pointed nib, ink and either a coloured or metallic paint ( not ink ). All these items are available on our webshop if there's an item you need to buy.
