Online Black History Course for Children and Families: A Four Week Course

About this event
The Online Black History Course for Children and Families is an online interactive course that takes families and children on an amazing journey.
This course uses a variety of stunning imagery, informative text, multiple choice questions, memory exercises and thinking skill exercises to help all participants explore 250,000 years of Black history. All attendees are taking on this journey by two fantastic child superheroes.
The aims of the course are:
1. To allow all participants the opportunity to explore Black history in an informative way that develops family learning.
2. To develop family research skills in the field of Black history.
3. To allow the adults members of families the opportunity to consider Black history as a personal and community development tool.
Payment
Each module requires a donation payment of a minimum of £7.50 per family.
Course content:
Using text, video, archive material and virtual reality.
Module 1 (donation required)
- Exploring Black history timeline
- Exploring key historians and events in Black history
- Exploring ancient Africans migrations to the rest of the world
- Exploring how to 'read' Black history artefacts, maps and art
Module 2 (donation required)
- Exploring Black history through the letters A to H
- Exploring Africa and ancient African migrations to the rest of the world
- Exploring the 'birth' of Africa and African people
- Exploring applying a range of study skills to the learning of Black history
Module 3 (donation required)
- Exploring Black history through the letters I to P
- Exploring the art and languages of Africa
- Exploring the neuroscience of Black history
- Exploring key themes in Black history such as bravery, family and duality
Module 4 (donation required)
- Exploring Black history through the letters Q to Z
- Exploring the great military queens of Africa and the African Diaspora
- Exploring and assessing the Black history study skills employed in the course
- Exploring the global promotion and application of Black history through the 'SEADS Green Box' project.

Workbooks for Children
3. The Genius workbooks for children ( 5 to 11 years of age). These workbooks contain exercises in English, Mathematics, Science, Global Black history, digital literacy, verbal reasoning, thinking skills and progress reports.
