Session overview:
This event will be an informal opportunity to have an overview on trauma informed approaches from Caroline Brindle, Trauma Informed Practice Manager who works in the Mental Health Equity team in the Social Impact Directorate at national Mind. This training will look at the following:
What is trauma?
- Traumatic events vs trauma
- Types of trauma (eg developmental)
- Neurological, biological and behavioural presentations
- Prevalence of trauma
- Trauma as a social justice and public health issue
Exploring Mind’s CYP developed Trauma Informed Principles
Regulation and Co-regulation
Organisational focus
- Secondary/Vicarious Trauma
- Burnout/ Toxic Stress / Compassion Fatigue and boundaries
This will be a pilot of the new training being developed for the Mind network of local Minds, with input from West Sussex and TOG Mind, and there will be a chance to feedback on further development.
