Are you an MA or PhD student working on 20th century European History or Holocaust studies? Join us for a digital skills workshop to discover highlights from the Wiener Holocaust Library’s collections for research projects and proposals.

Founded in Amsterdam in 1934, and based in London since 1939, The Wiener Holocaust Library is the world’s oldest and Britain’s largest collection of original archival and printed material on pre-war Jewish life, the Nazi era and the Holocaust.

The Wiener Holocaust Library’s collections relate to a wide range of subjects, including the history of antisemitism, Nazi persecution and its legacies, post-war trials, and the far-right in Britain. It is also the UK’s only access point to the International Tracing Service (ITS) Archive, a remarkable resource with of over 30 million pages of Holocaust-era documents relating to the experiences of over 17.5 million people.

Some of our most significant collections are now accessible remotely through Wiener Digital Collections, which launched earlier this year.

Join this workshop to find out more about the Wiener Holocaust Library’s history, its collections, and how to discover them for your research project.

Speakers:

Dr Christine Schmidt, Head of Research

Elise Bath, ITS Archive Team Manager

Dr Christopher Gilley, Digital Asset Manager
