Event description
Join The Suspicions of Mr Whicher author Kate Summerscale as she talks about her new book THE HAUNTING OF ALMA FIELDING: A TRUE GHOST STORY

About this Event

London, 1938. Alma Fielding, an ordinary young woman, begins to experience supernatural events in her suburban home.

Nandor Fodor - a Jewish-Hungarian refugee and chief ghost hunter for the International Institute for Psychical research - begins to investigate. In doing so he discovers a different and darker type of haunting: trauma, alienation, loss - and as the spectre of Fascism lengthens over Europe, the foreshadowing of a nation's worst fears.

Embrace the spirit of late October and join award-winning pioneer of historical non-fiction Kate Summerscale online as she tells us more about Fodor's enquiry and how she delved into long-hidden archives to find the human story behind a very modern haunting.

A ticket with a copy of The Haunting of Alma Fielding included is £16. If you would like to buy a ticket only for £5, please click here.

Shipping is included to the UK only.
