Saturday 18th September, 10:30am-12pm :

Join us on the 18th September to talk about "Réparer les vivants" written by Maylis de Kerangal. A novel about organ donation in which Maylis de Kerengal tackles this delicate subject through poetic and touching language. Simon Linges is 19 years old when his parents are confronted with the question of organ donation.

Saturday 2nd October, 10:30am-12pm :

Ranked by The Guardian in 2012 as one of the 10 best contemporary African books, "Verre cassé" by Alain Mabanckou introduces you to the lives of a Brazzaville bar's regular customers. Through vivid portraits, the book goes beyond Congo and Africa.

Saturday 6th November, 10:30am-12pm :

Come and discover (or rediscover) "Les Misérables" (excerpt), this classic of French literature written by Victor Hugo and which inspired the famous musical! A sweeping and masterful critique of the social, philosophical and historical conditions of 19th century French society, from the Parisian suburbs to provincial France.

Saturday 4th December, 10:30am-12pm :

"Charlotte", written by David Foekinos is a fictionalized biography based on the life of the painter Charlotte Salomon. A German painter excluded by the Nazis, she fled to France where she produced a stunning self-biographical pictorial work. She died at the age of 26 in Auschwitz.
