About this event

Saturday 12th June, 10:30am-12pm:

Join us on the 12th June to discuss the poems and songs written by the iconic French singer Georges Brassens. He wrote more than 200 songs such as “La mauvaise reputation”, “Chanson pour l’auvergnat”and “Les copains d’abord”. He was awarded the Grand Prix for poetry by the Académie Française in 1967.

Saturday 3rd July, 10:30am-12pm:

For the second book club, on the 3rd July, join us to discuss “Les Impatientes” by Djaili Amadou Amal (prix Goncourt 2020) and the story of three women trying to break free from the condition of women in the Sahel. Forced marriage, domestic violence…the author breaks taboos and denounces violence against women.
