ONLINE HMDT Workshop: ORDINARY OBJECTS, EXTRAORDINARY JOURNEYS
In this workshop you will be amongst the first to see and experience a new immersive and innovative website, which maps previously unknown journeys of men, women and young people affected during the Holocaust. This unique experience follows individuals' journeys via an interactive map and through artefacts belonging to them, casting a light on lesser-known aspects of the Holocaust.
In this virtual/in-person workshop, you will:
- Gain a greater understanding of individuals experiences of the Holocaust.
- Explore and discuss with other local authority staff how Holocaust commemoration and awareness raising can be strengthened within your communities.
- Receive training on how to make the most of this new user-friendly innovative resource for your audiences.
- Have the opportunity to be guided through website and the testimonies it shares and see how it can be used within your local communities, for example through libraries, workplaces, community hubs and informal learning groups.
Holocaust Memorial Day Trust (HMDT) encourages remembrance in a world scarred by genocide. We promote and support Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) – the international day on 27 January to remember the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, alongside the millions of other people killed under Nazi Persecution and in genocides that followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
HMD is for everyone. Each year across the UK, tens of thousands of people come together to learn more about the past and take action to create a safer future.
