Create out of the box characters that will bring vibrancy to all aspects of your improvisation. By examining and developing the tools that allow you to build unique characters from the ground up, we will find performances that you didn’t know you had in you. We will explore improvisational scene work by using inspiration from outside sources to bring fully formed characters to your comedy. This class is designed for all levels.

Class includes:

• Character creation
• Initiating through character
• Bringing together two strong characters

If we have to cancel the event due to low numbers, we will do this with 24 hours notice.

Julia DiFerdinando is a Vermont native who has been working as a professional comedian for over a decade. In 2011 Julia moved to Chicago to pursue her dream of studying and performing at the legendary Second City. While there she rose through the ranks of the comedy scene touching every aspect of the industry as she could. She developed a well-rounded knowledge of comedy and theatre as a theatre administrator, writer, touring performer, teacher and student. In 2018 she returned to Vermont to be the Creative Director at the Vermont Comedy Club where she developed all programming and artistic content. In 2019 she won the London Short Series Best Actress for her performance in “The Coat Room,” which she also wrote and produced. Follow her on all social media handles @juliadifer

This Open elective runs Saturday 7th August, 7.00-9.30 pm BST.

Open - A class for anyone, regardless of their improv experience. Although more experienced players are of course welcome, the content does not require any prior improv knowledge.

We offer full and partial scholarships for all online courses in order to make sure that the fun and community of improvisation is available to as many people as possible across the globe.

You are encouraged to apply if you would not normally be able to:

• Afford these courses
• Be unlikely to attend a course for any other reason
