An online Indian cookery course where you will learn how to create a delicious Indian meal using spices for flavour and balance

About this event

The success of cooking an Indian meal involves the correct way of using spices, and cooking them to perfection to take away their rawness without burning them! You will learn to use spice seeds and powders in a variety of ways and create a perfect meal that is balanced and delicious. We will cook some restaurant favourites, homestyle so that they are fresh and healthy and can be enjoyed guilt free!

Typical recipes-

Pilau Rice, easy Chicken Tikka Masala, Prawn Patia (a Parsi sweet and sour dish with vinegar and curry leaves) and a fragrant Cucumber and Mint Raita

You will do all the cooking in your kitchen as I guide you through every step. Through your laptop or other device, I will be able to be present in your kitchen cooking a delicious meal with you. The recipes will be for 4 people.

I will send the recipes and ingredient preparation list in advance. You will also receive an equipment list so that the class is as smooth as possible and we can focus on the cooking. The prep list will guide you as to what ingredients will need to chopped etc before hand and clear instructions will be given about the size of cut etc. I will send photos of some ingredients and techniques in advance to help you through the preparation process.

In order to conduct the class most efficiently, this will not be a cook along. Instead, I will be looking into your kitchens to guide you through the class.

Cooking With Monisha is a London based Indian cookery school run by award winning cookery author and chef Monisha Bharadwaj. The cookery school has been running for the past 15 years. Monisha trained as a chef at the prestigious Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai and along with doing TV and radio, has been teaching her easy style of cooking all over the UK since then.
