Introduction to Data Analytics And Visualisation

Cost: €160 (payable by invoice)

Duration: 2 days, 1000-1600 (1 hour lunch break) each day

This training will provide an understanding of how to perform simple data analytics and visualisations — enabling you to discover insights for your organisation and engaging your community.

• Data analytics and visualisation - what is data analytics and visualisation and how to do it, including examples of the latest techniques and practices.
• Analytics and visualisation practical tasks - introduction to creating graphs and map-based visualisations.
• The theory and techniques of data visualisations - summary and recommendations for your organisation.
• Understanding user engagement - introduction and considering your user needs
• Data Science - introduction and examples.
• Product overview - introduction to different products available on the market.
• Lessons learned - summary of the key lessons and take home tasks.

Courses are for all Public Service employees and groups of employees (for full organisation eligibility, please see below).

This live training session will be recorded in Zoom and the link will be shared after the session to the training delegates only, along with a copy of the slides.

Eligibility:

The following public service bodies are eligible to access this training Framework:

• Ministers of the Government of Ireland, Central Government Departments, Offices and non-commercial Agencies and Organisations which have a formal reporting and legal relationship to Central Government Departments, including all local authorities in Ireland (themselves including regional assemblies, local enterprise boards and library bodies)
• Contracting authorities in the Irish health sector including but not limited to the Health Service Executive (HSE); the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) and HSE funded Agencies delivering health & personal social services funded by more than 50% from Exchequer funds
• Contracting authorities which are Third Level Educational Institutions (including universities, institutes of technology and members of the Education Procurement Service)
• Contracting authorities which are Education and Training Boards (ETBs) and ETB schools, and primary, post-primary, special and secondary schools as well as ETBs acting on behalf of schools
• An Garda Síochána
• The Irish Prison Service
• The Defence Forces
