Join us online to celebrate the latest issue of MPT, Rhythms of the Land: Focus on the Poetry of Nature, with readings from issue contributors Sara Elkamel and Ottilie Mulzet, chaired by this issue's guest editor, Jessica Sequeira.

Sara Elkamel will present translations of Palestinian poet, playwright, and educator, Dalia Taha. Ottilie Mulzet will read and discuss the selection of Hungarian women poets featured in this issue, including Zsuzsa Rakovszky, Gizella Hervay, Zsuzsa Beney and Magda Székely.

Towards the end of the of the event there will be a chance for attendees to ask questions via the Zoom chat.


About the contributors

OTTILIE MULZET has translated the work of László Krasznahorkai, Szilárd Borbély, Gábor Schein, Krisztina Tóth, Edina Szvoren, László Földényi, István Vörös, György Dragomán and others. In 2019 she was awarded the National Book Award for Translated Literature for her translation of László Krasznahorkai’s novel Baron Wenckheim’s Homecoming.


SARA ELKAMEL holds an MA in arts journalism from Columbia University and an MFA in poetry from New York University. A Pushcart Prize winner, she is the author of the poetry chapbook Field of No Justice (African Poetry Book Fund & Akashic Books, 2021). Her translations include Mona Kareem’s chapbook, I Will Not Fold These Maps (Poetry Translation Centre, 2023) and Dalia Taha’s Enter World (Graywolf Press, 2026).
