Event description
This coaching programme is here to support you to fulfil your potential after cancer. Delivered through 6 workshops, limited to 8 people.

About this Event

92% of people find life after cancer harder than cancer treatment. Cancer is both frightening and traumatic for many people who are diagnosed with it. Fortunately, survival is improving, but many report that the negative impact of cancer does not finish at the end of their medical treatment.

Because of this and after my own experience of cancer (I quickly realised that the world was a very different colour post cancer.) - I created Life after Cancer. Life After Cancer brings people together who have finished cancer treatment with an aim to increase their well-being. The support they receive reduces the risk of serious mental distress and helps them to build a positive life after their cancer experience. Cancer shaped my life so I created Life after Cancer to support others in shaping theirs.

Life after Cancer Programme: This coaching programme is here to support you to fulfil your potential after cancer. Delivered through 6 workshops, limited to 8 people. The workshops will help you to fulfil your potential after cancer by dealing early on with some of the issues that may have arisen by your diagnosis. We will encourage you to trust your whole self and to support you to live in a way that is in line with who you are after cancer.

Workshop 1: Identity + Values: We get crystal clear on who you are and what your priorities are after such a life changing experience.

Workshop 2: Present State + Visioning: We take a look at where you are and where you'd like to be before making plans for the future - whilst keeping in mind that it may include a little more uncertainty than we would like it to.

Workshop 3: Actions + Accountability: The only impossible journey is the one you never begin. We work out what we need to do in order to move forward whilst holding each other accountable.

Workshop 4: Stories + Reframing: Some of us feel defined by our cancer experience and what it can sometimes stop us from doing. This can often hold us back. We explore the stories we tell ourself and reminding ourself that it doesn't have to be the way it's always been.

Workshop 5: Awareness + Communication: I often hear - 'my friends and family don't get it, there's no point telling them how I feel' or 'I'd just like to live in the moment and be grateful for what I have but I feel anxious, I'm angry - I can't make sense of it all'. During this workshop, we take the time to understand our emotions, how we communicate them (questioning whether this is working for us or not) and acknowledging that it's ok not to be ok.

Workshop 6: Thoughts, Language + Gremlins: We can often get caught up in our own thoughts, listening to our inner critics (gremlins) that sabotage our progress. We explore all of this and remind ourself to be careful of how we talk to ourself - remember who's listening.

What is included: 6 workshops, 6 interactive coaching workbooks to capture your learnings (which can be revisited in the future) and meeting 7 other wonderful adults who've also experienced cancer.

Is this for me? This is for anyone who has been affected by cancer. Feel free to invite your partner, friend or family member.
