What is a Mental Health Aware course?

Created by MHFA England, A half day introduction course to raise awareness of mental ill health, teaching delegates what mental health is, introducing the most common mental health conditions and how we can spot signs and symptoms that someone close to us may be becoming unwell.

The course follows MHFAs Take 10 Together framework to increase delegates confidence to have a supportive conversation and signpost an individual to further professional help if needed.

The course helps to raise awareness and tackle stigma associated with ill mental health; Delegates will gain a greater understanding about the importance of their own self-care to promote positive well being.

Who should attend this course?

Anyone/everyone can attend a Mental Health Aware course

The course is a great tool to gain a wider understanding of mental health within the workplace and to breakdown stigma

The course is most effective when used alongside a MHFAider network who have developed more in-depth skills and knowledge to best support someone in times of distress
