What to expect

The course is jam-packed with information across 4 live sessions to boost your mental health understanding. Content includes:

Session 1: Mental Health First Aid and mental health

Session 2: First aid for suicidal crisis and depression

Session 3: Anxiety eating disorders and self-harm

Session 4: Psychosis, recovery, and MHFA action planning

Learning made fun

The course contains a broad understanding of various mental illnesses – and is delivered with warmth and positive energy. There’s a variety of learning methods to ensure delegates enjoy the experience. Training includes a mix of video, presentations, live and self-study. Each self-study activity needs to be completed before the live sessions. There’s also group activities to ensure the learning is both interactive and social.

A safe and comfortable environment

Delegates safety and wellbeing is of utmost importance. If any delegates are uncomfortable with any activity, they are free to opt out anytime. The course is delivered with sensitivity to ensure the learning experience is a safe space.

Applying your Mental Health First Aid skills in real life

After the course you will have the knowledge to spot the signs and symptoms of mental distress. You will also have the confidence to step in, reassure and support the person in distress.

You will also receive a manual that contains a wealth of information about mental health. It contains numerous resources to help you signpost people to appropriate professional services. You will also have a pocket-sized mental health action plan to refer to anytime, anyplace, anywhere.
