Event description
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Online. Spot the signs of mental ill health and offer support on a first aid basis.

About this Event

The current government guidance around social distancing and working from home is preventing most face to face training from taking place and its not clear when these restrictions will be lifted.

In response to this, MHFA England have created a new course called Online Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), based on the content from our popular face-to-face Adult MHFA Two Day course with the same evidence-based learning outcomes and certification for learners. This new course allows Be Well to deliver vital training, so that we can all continue to improve the mental health of the nation.

Online course summary - This course is currently only available online.

Online MHFA is a blended approach of individual learning and four instructor-led live sessions delivered by our Directors Nikki Parry and Holly Clark, who are both accredited instructors through Public Health. This training is the internationally recognised Mental Health First Aid. The individual learning and live sessions will be hosted on MHFA England’s Online Learning Hub.

This course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider, giving you:

• An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing

• Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues

• Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress

• Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening

• Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix
