As a ‘Mental Health First Aider’ you will gain all of the necessary tools to offer all-important support for peers who are experiencing mental health issues. On the course you will develop key skills such as; spotting signs and triggers of mental health issues, non-judgemental listening, and supporting a person in distress.
By the end of the course you will gain:
- An in depth understanding of mental health and factors that can affect wellbeing
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgmental listening
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support
This course is for the mental health aficionado. Those wanting to become advocates of mental health awareness, have the ability to offer ongoing support to those suffering with mental ill health and make an active difference within their community or workplace should look to take part in this course
Upon completion of the course you will receive:
- A certificate of attendance to say you are a Mental Health First Aider
- A manual to refer to whenever you need it
- A quick reference card for the Mental Health First Aid action plan
- A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health
