Online Mental Health Half Day Awareness Course Online FREE

New Leaf is working with the Somerset Public Health Team to deliver workplace emotional wellbeing training to small and medium sized (SME) businesses across Somerset.

The focus is on supporting those who have been impacted by covid through the virus itself, experience of lockdown or the impact of the recession.

The course is FREE for SME's, sole traders and micro providers working in:

• Visitor Economy

• Arts and entertainment

• Construction

• Health and social care

• Farming and agriculture

Our Adult Mental Health Awareness Course lasts 4 hours and is accredited with Mental Health First Aid England.

It is an introductory session to raise awareness of mental health. 

Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities. We limit numbers to 12 people per course so that Kay can keep people safe and supported while they learn.  

Everyone who completes the course gets:

• A manual to refer to whenever you need it

• A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health

• A certificate of attendance to say you are Mental Health Aware

You will gain:

• An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma

• A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues

• An introduction to looking after their own mental health and maintaining wellbeing

• Confidence to offer support to someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue

No, we would ask for you to book again on a separate course and create a refund if necessary. 

Do I have to attend all 4 hours?

Yes This course is a 4 hour course

Will I automatically pass the course?

No, I expect all participants to mirror the values of Mental Health First Aid and participate fully in the four hour workshop

Can I cancel my place?

Yes, but we ask you to let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your place to someone else

How will I get my materials

These will be posted to you in advance of the workshop commencing. Hence the bookings closing before the event to allow for administration.
