This session will be delivered by Jo Hill and is for staff and volunteers at West Sussex Mind only.

Session overview:

With a growing number of volunteers across all of our services in West Sussex Mind, this session is aimed at all current or potential volunteer supervisors and service managers to develop their knowledge and skills to recruit and support volunteers.

The session will discuss:

  • How volunteers can bring capacity and diversity to your service, and the different types of volunteers
  • How to recruit and induct volunteers
  • What training is available and required for volunteers
  • How volunteers are supervised and supported
  • Best practice for supervision and retention
  • Common challenges and difficulties
  • Celebrating and acknowledging volunteers

We will be joined by current West Sussex Mind staff who supervise volunteers and by current volunteers, all of whom will share their experience so we can learn from each other.
