Online Parent Workshop - Transition to Primary School

Led by the Havering Emotional Support Team, this workshop will provide valuable information and practical tips to understand and support your child's transition to primary school.

This workshop is aimed at parents of children who will be starting reception.

This workshop will be cover:

  • Why change and transitions can be difficult for children
  • Spotting signs that your child may be worried about the transition
  • Strategies you can use to support your child with their emotions

Havering Emotional Support Team

Havering Emotional Support Team (HEST) is a service designed to help meet the emotional wellbeing needs of children and young people in education settings.

HEST are currently providing monthly online parent workshops, which are available to all parents/carers who have a child attending a Havering school. Each month we focus on a different topic related to children's emotional wellbeing.

HEST are also offering monthly face-to-face meet ups for Dads/Father figures in Havering to provide a space for Dads to learn about children's emotional wellbeing and share experiences.
