The parent/child relationship is the most important one we have and acts as the template for future relationships. Research shows that behaviour which is rewarded, whether positively or negatively, is likely to be repeated in the future. This means we need to ensure that parents give the right kind of attention so they can build a positive, solid relationship between parent and child.

A path to a strong relationship is created by focusing on the positive things children do so instead of telling a child what not to do, we need to start telling them what we love them doing!
