Title:  Using evaluation of coaching to align emerging leadership mindsets with dynamic strategies

Facilitator: Dr Mark Jamieson, The Jamieson Partnership

Abstract:  Research resulting from a new book on how to evaluate the impact of leadership coaching, debunks the idea that evaluation is either too problematical to implement, or too strategically unambitious to provide stakeholders with a sufficient incentive to make the effort. In unlocking the mystery of evaluation, in terms of the impact of coaching on leadership behaviours that are characterised as unique, unfamiliar and intangible, a practical model emerges that is presented as simultaneously workable and strategically useful. The case is made for evaluation as a strategic tool rather than an operational task, and in making this argument, provocative new questions emerge for all those involved with leadership coaching who continue to choose to overlook evaluation.

Biography: Mark Jamieson is a leadership coach and founder of the Jamieson Partnership and the GreenWing Project (focusing leadership coaching on young people in underserved communities). He recently completed his DProf. at the University of Chester and is writing a book on the evaluation of leadership coaching, with Professor Tony Wall (due for publication 02/22)

The format: Arrival followed by an interactive presentation (20-30 mins max) with opportunity to ask questions (20 mins).
