Preparing for Baby is a free Online course for expectant parents consisting of 3 sections from Health Visitors, Family Support Service and Midwives. The course covers all the essentials you need to prepare for labour, parenthood and the early years.
The sessions will cover:
- Support available for baby's first 5 years from the Family Centre Service.
- Emotional preparation for birth and parenthood.
- Stages of normal labour, induction, pain relief and the first hour.
- All aspects of infant feeding.
- Practical aspects of caring for a baby.
- Essential information about keeping baby safe and healthy throughout the early years, how they communicate and recognising baby’s well-being.
This is a pre-recorded course, divided into short bite sized videos that can be watched alone or with your partner at a time that is convenient for you. It is aimed at expectant parents, between 25- 34 weeks pregnancy, living in Hertfordshire.
You are encouraged to complete the full online course within 2 weeks of this date. As you progress through the course our Family Support teams in your area will contact you just in case you have any questions. However you will be able to access all the information within the course up until your baby is born.
