About

The Reposition your skills workshop is aimed at women who are ready to elevate their professional presence, both within their organisations and externally. In general, women do not like to self-promote yet undervaluing your skills or being too reticent can lead to you being perceived as less strategic and be damaging to your career progression.

This workshop is about much more than simply listing your achievements—it’s about recognising your true value, positioning yourself and your work strategically, and amplifying the impact of your skills and accomplishments.

Whether you’re looking to climb the career ladder, pivot into new roles, or simply stand out more in your current environment, this session will help you understand the power of self-promotion.

As well as advice from our expert course leaders, the course will feature a practical workshop with two volunteers, which will showcase how to effectively communicate your key skills. The volunteers will be asked to talk about what they do and their accomplishments, followed by feedback from the course leaders. Please let us know if you would like to volunteer when registering or by emailing liz@diversitytalks-re.org.

Key topics:

• Why it is important for women to change how they talk about their skills

• Recognising barriers to better representing yourself such as the imposter syndrome

• Practical tools to build confidence and take a more strategic approach to how you talk about your professional self

• Interactive workshop with case studies

• How to develop an effective personal narrative

• Q&A

About Diversity Talks Real Estate

Diversity Talks Real Estate is a non-profit with a mission to increase the visibility of under-represented groups in the European built environment industry. We have a particular focus on women and ethnic minority professionals. Our speaker platform connects these professionals with speaking opportunities. We also provide a series of “in the spotlight” courses on public speaking, confidence and communications skills mostly for women in real estate, with some open to all.

Visibility brings opportunities, challenges stereotypes and provides role models. It also helps us to work towards a more diverse and inclusive industry which best serves the cities and communities in which we live and work.
