At The Cottesloe School, we take our responsibilities for safeguarding and child protection very seriously. We instil a strong culture of vigilance amongst all members of the school community and believe it is our shared responsibility to safeguard each other.
As part of our commitment to our safeguarding procedures, we are looking to host an information evening for parents and carers to help support you and understand what to look for and how you can support your child.
The event will take place in the main school hall. This event is for parents and carers ONLY and is not suitable for children to attend.
We will cover how young people are using social media and the internet; to help guide you as parents/carers on how to approach a key part of modern society.
Covering these topics:
- How and what are children accessing online
- Practical advice and resources
- Communication with young people about healthy online usage
- Blocks and filters
- Our online safety policies and procedures
- Cyber Bullying
There will be the opportunity to ask any questions, seek support from the staff available and share ideas on how to keep your children safe online.
