Singer, storyteller and teacher Fong Liu invites you to join our special singing session - in Chinese! You'll learn how to sing a well-known and easy song in Mandarin Chinese.


The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, will take place on 6 October 2025 and is an occasion for families to reunite and spend quality time together.


The participants will learn:

• The stories of the Mid-Autumn Festival (Moon Festival);

• to sing a Chinese song: Moon represents my heart 月亮代表我的心

• to say some useful words and phrases related to the Mid-Autumn Festival in Chinese Mandarin;

• to write some Chinese characters


You'll need:

• a pen or pencil;

• a notebook or some blank paper.


Recommended for:

• Children above 6 years old.

• Any adult who likes to explore a new language and culture.

• Extremely good for the family to learn and have fun together.


Language: English & Mandarin. No need for previous Chinese language knowledge.


Workshop Leader: Fong Liu


Artist Profile:

Fong Liu is a Chinese singer, storyteller, voice-over artist and UK-qualified secondary school teacher. She sings Chinese folk, pop and opera songs. Her brilliant ability to adapt her voice to many styles from China makes her a unique and special performer. She has been acclaimed during residences in China, India and, since 2006, Great Britain. She continued her studies in the UK and got her teaching qualification PGDE and Master in Education. Her passion is to combine her knowledge of singing and Mandarin teaching to make Chinese language learning fun and interesting.


Joining the workshop:

The workshop will be delivered via Zoom. You will receive a Zoom workshop link and password to join the workshop after registration. Please join the workshop on time.
